European Projects

ECTRI Members are major players and most valued providers of research capacity in transport research programmes at national and European level. ECTRI aims to increase the number and success rate of the R&D projects initiated by its Members. Through effective networking and cooperation within its Thematic Groups, ECTRI has supported the development of several projects by directly helping the formation of consortia and proposal preparation and when funded, dissemination of research results.

ECTRI, as an association, has moreover taken up the leadership of five horizontal projects of high strategic character e.g. NET-TRACK, EURFORUM, DETRA, EUTRAIN and more recently SETRIS and SKILLFUL; all of which were funded by the EU FP.

In November 2015, ECTRI Members were involved in 54 H2020 transport related projects: 7 on Aviation, 5 on Rail, 8 on Road, 2 on Waterborne, 4 on Urban Mobility, 1 on Logistics, 3 on ITS, 4 on Infrastructures, 1 on Socio-Economic and 19 on Green Vehicles.

ECTRI Members were involved in 249 FP7 transport related projects: 2 Networks of Excellence (NoE), 165 Collaborative projects (CP), 71 Coordination and Support Actions (CSA), 3 Marie Curie Initial Training Networks (ITN), 1 Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowship (IIF), 1 Marie Curie Career Integration Grants (CIG), 1 collaborative project for Specific Cooperation Actions dedicated to international cooperation partner countries (SICA), 2 Research for SME (SME) and 3 Large-scale Integrating Projects (IPS). Additionally, ECTRI Members are involved in 6 Policy Support Programmes / IntelligentEnergy Europe (CIP) and 17 running COST actions.
